What exactly is a Samarit Rollbord® used for?
A rollboard is mainly used in hospitals and clinics to transfer patients from a bed/stretcher to another bed or to the operating table without having to lift them. It enables the gentle transfer of injured or pressure-sensitive persons, reduces the risk of falls and at the same time protects the back of the nursing staff, even with heavier patients.
How does the quality of SAMARIT Rollboards differ from cheaper alternatives?
The quality of SAMARIT rollboards significantly exceeds that of cheaper rollboards: durable, sustainable materials, sturdy construction and easy cleaning ensure safe patient transfers. How do the 20 Samarit Rollbord® models differ?
SAMARIT rollboards are designed for different patients, areas of application and transfer requirements. Different models take into account both the size and weight of the patients and the location of use, for example, operating theatre, intensive care unit, radiology or nursing home. This allows each facility to choose the right rollboard for its individual needs while ensuring safety, efficiency and durability.
Are Rollbords medically tested?
Yes, our Rollbords are tested in accordance with the requirements of the MDR (Medical Device Regulation) and comply with the applicable safety and quality standards.
How many Rollbords have been sold worldwide?
As the inventor, Samarit has already produced 300,000 Rollbords and sold them worldwide.
How do I use a Rollbord correctly?

How ergonomic are Samarit Rollbords for nursing staff?
Samarit Rollbords are particularly ergonomic for nursing staff: only about 15–18% of a patient's body weight is required to push or pull them. This allows patients to be moved from one surface to another with minimal effort and without straining the back.
How many carers are needed to transfer a patient using the Rollboard?
Patient transfer with the Rollboard can usually be carried out by one caregiver. For heavier patients, we recommend using two people. What material is the Rollbord made of?
The Rollbord consists of a lightweight special foam core and an outer cover made of nylon sliding fabric with a Teflon coating.
How do I clean and disinfect the Rollbord?
The Rollboard is best cleaned with ‘Incidin OxyWipe’ from ECOLAB or another medical disinfectant (no chlorine, no concentrate, no bleach). For additional protection, a disposable cover can be used to catch any dirt and keep the surface clean.
How long does a Samarit Rollbord® last on average with daily use?
The service life of a Samarit Rollbord depends on its use and proper handling. With proper use, a Rollbord lasts approx. 10 years, but some have lasted 20 to 30 years.
How long is the warranty period for Rollbords?
5-years warranty
