The sliding board is a care aid for seated transfers. It enables patients to be transferred safely and with minimal effort, e.g. from a wheelchair to a bed, to the toilet or into a car, without having to stand up.

Who is the sliding board suitable for?
The sliding board is ideal for people with limited mobility and facilitates transfers when sitting, standing up or repositioning. It can be used independently or with the support of relatives and carers – a safe and practical transfer aid for care facilities and at home.

Can the glideboard be used at home?

Yes. The Glideboard transfer board is well suited for home use, for example to assist family members in daily care.
It allows a person to be moved safely and with significantly less effort from the bed to a wheelchair, chair, or toilet.

• With the help of another person, it is easiest and safest to use.
• Alone, it can also be used, but only if you have enough strength and can assess the situation safely. Safety always comes first – if you are unsure, seek assistance.

The transfer board is easy to handle, protects the caregiver’s back, and at the same time increases safety and comfort for the person being cared for.

How is a sliding board used?
A sliding board is placed between two seats, for example between a wheelchair and a bed or a wheelchair and a car seat. The patient sits on the edge of the board and slides to the other side with assistance or independently. It is important that the board is stable. What is the maximum load capacity?

The load capacity (SWL) ranges from 180 to 220 kg, depending on the model. This means that the glideboard is also suitable for heavier patients.

How do I clean and disinfect the GLIDEBOARD?

The Samarit Glideboard is best cleaned with warm soapy water and rubbed dry with a cloth. It can also be cleaned with ‘Incidin® Oxywipe’ from ECOLAB or another comparable medical disinfectant (no chlorine, no concentrate, no bleach). The anti-slip adhesives can be kept dust-free with a damp cloth, thus ensuring optimum adhesion to the support surfaces.

What safety features does the slide board have?

A very smooth surface for easy gliding, anti-slip adhesive strips for a secure hold, and break-proof material for maximum stability. This makes transfers safe for both patients and carers.

What material is the GLIDEBOARD made of and is it recyclable?
The Samarit Glideboard is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). This material is very robust, durable, break-proof and, at the same time, completely recyclable. At the end of its service life, the sliding board can be recycled in an environmentally friendly manner via a suitable plastic collection point or a specialist waste disposal company.

What is the service life of a sliding board?

When used properly, the slide board is particularly durable and will last for many years.

Are there any accessories for the slide boards?

Yes, there is the Sit-on Monofil cloth. It allows you to slide easily on the slide board without clothes. The nylon sliding pad is suitable for the bath, shower and toilet.

Is there a warranty on the GLIDEBOARD?

Yes, SAMARIT offers a 24-month warranty on the GLIDEBOARD.
